ROADS OPEN!!! - Given the warner weather we will be opening the roads for this weekend the 9th. Please come to the office to get you new contract and gate card ativated. Also if the area around your unit is extremely wet please only park in the visitor parking areas and avoid the shoulders and grass until it firms up.

MPAC TAX- As most of you know Trailers have been assessed for property taxes for several years now based on their assessed level of permancy and their values. We (NIRS) are a part of the OPCA (Ontario Private Campgrounds Assoc.) that supported a member Resort to fight their Municipality on the right to charge these taxes which they won in early 2006. This ruling was precedent setting and was immediately appealed by their Municipality. In early 2008 the original ruling was over turned and the Municipality won the right to continue taxing. This was a blow to all Resorts and their clients for several reasons: 1. a precedent for all of Ontario has now been set 2. MPAC will most likely begin to reassess again after a two year moritorium of assessment and 3. The only way for us as an Assoc. to appeal is to the Supreme Court of Canada which has been deemed to costly. So we will wait to see what this summer holds and continue collecting and remitting on behalf of famed provincial governement.
